Applications Now Accepted for 2018 Jackson Casey Memorial Scholarships

The Board of Directors of the Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association has announced a call for applications for the 2018 Jackson Casey Memorial Scholarships, named in honor of a Fort Hunt athlete who passed away in 2011.

"Jackson would have been a college freshman this year", said FHYAA President John Stamos. “His teammates would be entering college and graduating from HS. We expect to have a spike in the applications."  These scholarships help highlight the joy and fun that sports used to bring to Jackson’s life. His passion and enthusiasm lives on through the recipients of these scholarships.

The $3,000 scholarships are awarded annually to two graduating seniors (1 male, 1 female) who at some point in their athletic careers participated in a Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association team. Each applicant is asked to submit a 750 to 1,200 word essay describing the life lessons they’ve learned through participating in athletics.

Applications are now being accepted at on the Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Website. The application deadline is May 2, 2018. Scholarship recipients will be contacted by Mid-May.
