Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association
Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association (FHYAA) was established in 1959 to serve the youth of Fort Hunt and the surrounding communities. Our mission is to provide children up to 18 years of age the opportunity to experience recreational sports in an atmosphere that encourages and promotes teamwork, friendships and self-confidence, in a positive, safe and supportive environment. We strive to teach proper sports fundamentals, strategies and good sportsmanship, which empowers our young athletes to become responsible citizens.
FHYAA is a nonprofit organization driven by volunteer members who serve in various capacities. We recognize that without our volunteers we could not function. We are thankful for and proud of the extensive network of community members that volunteer their time and effort to serve as coaches for our teams, Commissioners and Board Members for individual sports, as well as Board Members for FHYAA.
FHYAA currently supports Softball, Baseball, Lacrosse, Basketball, Rugby, Volleyball, Football and Cheerleading.
The FHYAA Board of Directors is dedicated to improving our sports programs and expanding the opportunities we provide for the children in our community.
FHYAA Aligns Coaching Philosophy with the Positive Coaching Alliance
Positive Coaching Alliance provides tips and tools that youth and high school sports coaches, parents, athletes leaders and officials can immediately bring to practices and games. Our tools comprise insights from research-based sports and educational psychology, advice from PCA National Advisory Board Members, and gems of wisdom from PCA Trainers and the leaders, coaches, parents and athletes they meet in our workshops.
Every year the Fort Hunt Sportsmen’s Association provides outstanding financial support to the FHYAA and other important sports activities in our area. The Fort Hunt Sportsmen's Association is a non-profit club dedicated to the support of local youth sports since 1963. Please thank them and visit them at:
If you do not have any children that are registered to play a FHYAA sport, but you plan to volunteer to Coach or Assistant Coach for that sport, you must complete the Volunteer Registration process for the sport you plan to coach.
