Fort Hunt Little League - Spring 2010

SKILLS EVALUATION - REVISED PLAN

Background:
With our first 3 attempts to conduct Skills Evaluations thwarted by snow and power outages, we are down to our last weekend. Based on the need to conduct drafts, set up teams and eventually get out on the playing fields, adding a Skills Evaluation weekend in March is NOT an option.

However, Little League rules require us to conduct "tryouts" for prospective players in the MAJORS and JUNIORS divisions--- therefore, that will be our focus this Sunday in the limited time we have the gym space reserved.  In addition, it’s important for league officials and managers/coaches to get a look at players NEW to Fort Hunt Little League who are planning to play in divisions AA and up. NEW is defined as any player who did not play in FHLL in the Spring of 2009.

 The NEW Plan:
ONLY the following players should plan to attend this Sunday’s (2/28) Baseball Skills Evaluation:
1. All players desiring to play MAJORS or JUNIORS.
2. All players NEW to FHLL who desire to play league level: AA, AAA,
MAJORS or JUNIORS.

The Sunday schedule will be:

Division Check-In Session Time
MAJORS 8:00 8:30-10:00
JUNIORS 9:30 10:00-11:00
"New AA & AAA" 10:30 11:00-12:00
(+ late arrivals)

Evaluations will be conducted in the West Potomac High School’s Main Gym.

If a prospective MAJORS or JUNIORS player is ill, injured or cannot attend due to a previous commitment, please notify me by reply e-mail. Little League rules allow a majority vote of the FHLL Board of Directors to provide a "waiver of the tryout rule" on a case-by-case basis for Majors or Juniors players unable to tryout.
